ALUMINUM KOMBI COUNTER-FLOW HEAT EXCHANGER
Our combined counter-flow heat exchanger for air-to-air systems consists of two heat exchangers installed in parallel. The entire package of the combined heat exchanger is made of aluminum, resistant to seawater. Temperature efficiency is up to 93%. Ideal solution for HR systems up to 70000 m3/h. Large pressure drop values.
- The combined heat exchanger allows you to connect 2 identical types of heat exchangers in parallel and thus increase the volume of treated air with a compact unit size.
- Kombi counter-flow heat exchanger complies with the ECO Design 2018 regulations and has been specially designed to take full advantage of the counter-flow heat exchangers in large ventilation systems.
- Due to the high efficiency of the heat exchangers, the power consumption of the fans is compensated. Thus, with a dry efficiency of 80%, it is possible to design compact air handling units.

BY-PASS AND DAMPERS
- The heat exchanger consists of aluminum plates, the design of which separates the supply and exhaust flows. The extract airflow heats the supply air through the heat exchanger walls. The streams do not mix.
- The main disadvantage of an aluminum heat exchanger is condensation, which can cause freezing at low temperatures. To avoid freezing, a defrost mode is introduced: cold supply air passes through the bypass, and heated exhaust air passes through the heat exchanger plates, as a result of which the heat exchanger is defrosted.
- However, there is a small impact on fan power consumption, which is offset by the seasonal efficiency of the heat exchanger. The dampers allow you to control the air temperature and work on the principle of rotation: when one damper starts to open, the other closes.

SIZES AND DIMENSIONS
- With a nominal airflow of 1.9 m/s, the air resistance can increase up to 15 Pa, which doubles for a parallel circuit.
- The following table shows all available models and overall dimensions of counter-flow heat exchangers.
- Dimensions A, B, D, E, F, and G are fixed. Size C is changing.
- Each heat exchanger model can be manufactured in width (size C) from 100 mm to 1000 mm of a one-piece unit.
- The heat exchanger with a width of 1000 mm or more is delivered in two or more identical blocks.
- Each heat exchanger model can be equipped with a bypass (on request).
COUNTER-FLOW KOMBI HEAT EXCHANGER SIZES
- The Kombi counter-flow heat exchangers are made of high-quality aluminum.
- The materials are identical to those used in conditions of possible corrosion or in constant contact with seawater.
- Conform to the requirements of VDI 6022.
- Tested for inertness, bacterial safety, and hygiene of aluminum foil (quality: alloy 8079) and aluminum sheets — grade: EN AW-5754 (AlMg3).
KOMBI COUNTER-FLOW HEAT EXCHANGERS CAN HAVE DIFFERENT TYPES OF COATING
- Aluminum coating. The maximum pure aluminum alloy is used, with a minimum content of iron and copper, mainly affecting the corrosion resistance. We use aluminum alloy number 8079, characteristic "0".
- Epoxy coating. Used in environments where there is a high likelihood of corrosion or stringent exploitation requirements. Complete protection against aggressive environments by isolating the end portions of the plates. First-class solution for use near pools, indoors near the coast, and in spray booths.
- Hydrophilic coating changes the surface properties of the heat exchanger and significantly reduces the drop angle. The benefit is quick dehumidification of the heat exchanger, reduction of total resistance, and avoidance of freezing by 20%. Used for adiabatic air conditioning systems.
- Antibacterial coating. Antibacterial treatment of metal creates an unfavorable environment for the reproduction of microbes, viruses, and fungi. Mainly used for medical premises.
